A Name That Honors Guanacaste\u2019s Heritage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NUMU significa <\/strong>“sun” en lengua Chorotega.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The name was chosen with intention. It pays tribute to Guanacaste\u2019s ancestral heritage and to the Indigenous communities that understood the importance of living in harmony with nature long before sustainability became a global priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as the sun has sustained life in this region for centuries, it is now becoming a source of clean energy that will help power Costa Rica\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El parque solar m\u00e1s grande de la provincia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NUMU se desarrolla sobre una parcela de 32 hect\u00e1reas dentro de Ciudad Nya, en Liberia, con una inversi\u00f3n cercana a los 24 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando entre en operaci\u00f3n, prevista para el \u00faltimo trimestre de 2026, contar\u00e1 con una capacidad instalada de 29,2 MW<\/strong>, suficiente para producir energ\u00eda renovable equivalente al consumo de aproximadamente 15.000 hogares costarricenses.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project marks an important step toward strengthening the country\u2019s energy matrix through a reliable, efficient, and renewable long-term energy source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tecnolog\u00eda que sigue el movimiento del sol<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of NUMU\u2019s most innovative features is its use of intelligent solar tracking technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike conventional photovoltaic installations, these tracking systems allow the panels to follow the sun\u2019s movement throughout the day\u2014much like a sunflower. By continuously optimizing their position, the panels can increase energy production by up to 20%<\/strong>, maximizing one of Guanacaste\u2019s most abundant natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta innovaci\u00f3n posiciona a NUMU como una de las plantas solares m\u00e1s modernas del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energ\u00eda limpia para miles de familias<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NUMU es desarrollado por Genera Power<\/strong>, empresa de Genera Holdings<\/strong>, y operar\u00e1 bajo un contrato de compra de energ\u00eda a 20 a\u00f1os con el Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This long-term agreement ensures that the energy generated by the park will be supplied directly to Costa Rica\u2019s national electric grid, strengthening the country\u2019s renewable energy production while supporting long-term energy reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
